<p>In honor of the 450th anniversary of the Luna expedition (1559), join us for a FREE public symposium to highlight the role of Pensacola during the 16th-century Spanish exploration and colonization of the New World. The symposium will be held on the exact anniversary of the hurricane that destroyed the Luna colony, preventing Pensacola from being the oldest continually occupied city in the United States. Internationally recognized scholars from throughout the United States will lecture on a variety of topics within the context of 16th-century Spanish colonization.</p>
